Landworkers’ Alliance Cymru invites you to a discussion about the opportunities for Welsh edible horticulture and mixed farming, the barriers to expansion and policy changes needed. Recent developments from Welsh Government, such as the horticulture start up and development grants are a welcome indication of support for welsh fruit and vegetable farming. However, many barriers still need to be tackled if we are to realise Welsh horticulture’s full potential. Whilst the ambition and much of the content the Agriculture (Wales) Bill and Sustainable Farming Scheme are very welcome, they do not address many of the changes needed to grow the agroecological horticulture sector.

Join LWA Cymru to hear directly from innovative farmers about the positive work they are doing producing food for local communities through ecologically sustainable methods; the challenges they face, and the support needed for the sector to thrive.

The presentations and discussion will be followed by a lunch made from local produce and a Food Cardiff informal networking space to make connections, find out more about food projects and initiatives and share ideas.
