Food Sense Wales at the Royal Welsh Show

Food Sense Wales will have a presence at this year’s Royal Welsh Show as part of the Community + Food + Agroecology stand (pitch 860).

This new and collaborative space will explore community, food and agroecology will host a number of like-minded organisations, all of whom are interested in creating a sustainable food system for Wales.  These organisations include Social Farms & Gardens, Open Food Network, Landworkers’ Alliance, Nature Friendly Farming Network and many more.

As well as offering practical demonstrations such as apple pressing and seed saving, alongside fun children’s activities, the Community + Food + Agroecology space will also be the venue for numerous policy related events.  These range from report launches and presentations on research project findings, to lively panel discussions with Senedd Members and representatives from Welsh Government.  Find out more and read the programme of events here.

The Community + Food + Agroecology space is co-ordinated by Social Farms & Gardens and will celebrate the culmination of ‘Resilient Green Spaces’ – a £1.27m partnership project to pilot alternative re-localised food systems using communities and their green spaces as the driving force for change across Wales.  The aim of the space is to offer a retrospective on the project and what it has achieved as well as meet the community and share learnings with other like-minded organisations.
