Welsh Government launches Healthy Food Environment consultation

The Welsh Government wants to hear your views and comments on proposals to improve making healthier food choices.  The Healthy Food Environment Consultation explores what action could be taken to improve the food environment in Wales and help make the healthy choice, the easy choice. It is an action from the Healthy Weight: Healthy Wales Strategy.  This consultation includes proposals under three themes:

  • Healthier Shopping Baskets – for promotions and marketing to be rebalanced
towards healthier choices to increase the affordability of healthier options.
  • Healthier Eating out of our Homes – to improve the information available to us
when eating out of the home and to build on the success of the Sugar Levey
    on soft drinks.
  • Healthier Local Food Environments – to shift the balance, so that our daily
journeys through the places we live can help to promote positive choices,
including to explore the role of Hot Food Takeaways around schools.
